REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR 2024-2025 - PLEASE READ! In an ongoing effort to improve the registration process, the PTO, Play Coordinators, and Pacific Northwest Theater have created a new registration policy as follows:
Online registration for both plays will begin Saturday, November 16th at 9:00 AM. To register, please log-on to the Griffin PTO website and follow the prompts on the homepage. Registration is based on order of registration and fills fast, so set your alarms!
8th Graders will be given the first 10 minutes to register for the play. 8th graders will be able to register for BOTH plays if they are interested.
After the first 10 minutes have passed, then any 5th - 8th grade student (during the 2024-2025 school year) will be able to register for ONE play of their choosing until registration is full. They may add their name to a waitlist for the second play if they choose. When both plays are full (30 students) registration will close.
Remember, 8th Grade students can begin to register at 9AM. At 9:10, any student in 5th-8th grade can register. If you register before 9:10 and your child is not in 8th grade, your registration will not be accepted.
The registration fee is $175. Parents will receive an email from the PTO after their child is registered for the play- this will confirm registration and allow for payment. Cost should not prevent any child from participating. If your child is in need of a scholarship, please contact Shawnee Morgan. We look forward to another wonderful production!
Griffin Theater Productions
Griffin PTO and Pacific Northwest Theater, under the artistic direction of Steven Wells, partner together to offer two opportunities, in January and May, to participate in theater productions each year.
Play rehearsals are typically four weeks long Monday-Friday from 3:30-5:30pm in the gym. On early release Wednesdays, a study hall is available for cast members from 2:20-3:30pm. The final week of rehearsals is Tech Week and rehearsals may go longer if needed. Three stage performances will take place on the 4th week, Friday 7pm and Saturday 2pm and 7pm.
Parent volunteers are a necessity to make this play a success. There are many different tasks that rely on different skill sets and time availability. It is an expectation that all families will volunteer in multiple opportunities.
